The views over the spectacular Ribble Valley and Pendle Hill are breathtaking. This certainly is a superb area for walkers, birdwatchers and those who appreciate the environment around them.
The site is adjacent to a broadleaved woodland , planted in Spring 2003, which you are welcome to walk around as long as you clear up after your dogs (bins provided).
You do not need to drive, the bus to Longridge, Clitheroe or Blackburn stops at the end of the drive,handy if you have a bus pass
The Roman village of Ribchester is only a mile away with a museum & remains of a bath house open to the public. The village offers a large children's playarea with hardstanding football/ volley ball pitch and a tennis court. There is a charming tearoom/gift shop in Ribchester.
For your immediate shopping there is Spar with Post Office in Ribchester.
There are several pubs/ restaurants in the village.
3 miles away there is the town of Longridge with more shops,supermarkets/petrol, bottled gas.
Within 10 miles there is the delightful market town of Clitheroe, with markets on Tues and Sat. There are many individual shops to browse round as well as the castle with its new museum and beautiful grounds.
