New site to LCDA. Well I say new, we did use to camp there moons agao and are returning :)
Stunning views all round with plenty of walks. Close to Macclesfield
We are planning on leading (said very loosely) a walk from site up to The Cloud and back round through Rushton Spencer. We have two options 1: 9 miles to The Cloud and round or 2: 5 miles not going to Timbersbrook. Check out the route here. We would pick the walk up at point 12. Oh and theres a pub in Rushton Spencer. Have a look here for more information on The Cloud. Walk is weather permitting.
If you don't fancy the walk other places to visit include Biddulph Grange Gardens (NT), Rudyard Lake – so beautiful Mr and Mrs Kipling named their son after it – Bosley Reservoir with its circular walk, Bosley Cloud – the view point for the whole of the Cheshire plain and the market towns of Macclesfield, Leek and Congleton. The site itself is a generous sized field with a reasonably flat area, plenty big enough for camping. The rest of the field is gently sloping down to a wild flower meadow with a view to die for.
The owner is extremely friendly and it is worth asking if he has any of his free range eggs to spare.
