About our Weekend at Sterndale Green Farm

This will be our 6th Annual Worm Charming Event and it really does pull in the punters.

Come and have some fun and use your skills to charm the worms from the ground. Competitors compete for a trophy which is awarded to the person charming the most worms from their plot in thirty minutes. The title is held for one year. There are more trophies to win in fun categories.

The most successful method used so far is that of hand vibrating a four prong garden fork inserted approximately 15cms into the turf, now known as "twanging".

Buy your plot in aid of youth funds and have the most fun you’ve had in a while!!

King Sterndale lies very close to Deepdale, one of the most beautiful of the local dales, and a nature reserve on account of its range of flowers. Excavations have shown that Thirst House cave in Deepdale was occupied at various times by both man and wild animals from the Ice Ages to Roman times.

The site is easy to find with one single flat lane to get to the site. Monsal Trail not far which is great for walking and flat off road cycling. Located near Buxton, Bakewell and other small but lovely villages. If you just want to get away for a peaceful field break this is a great spot.

Social evening Saturday night with a sausage sizzle and a few quizzes
